DAY 1

Our Aim is to give you a great painting holiday but with some real teaching about painting and drawing. Every day is a FULL day - with lunch. Painting on loction and in the Professional Art Studio .

ESSENTIAL TONAL DRAWINGS

Essential training for painters is a 'tonal working drawing'. This teaches you about light and shade and how to get depth and interest in your paintings

We ease in gently with an essential 'tonal working drawing' which we create in charcoal - on location.

We always go to places that have a huge range of views - so you choose your form

Then we create our working drawings, in paint in the studio

We had lunch in a restaurant and then in the afternoon created our paintings.

We also learn about how to prepare your canvas and proper Fine Art composition today.

We finish about 4.30-5.0pm - so you have time for your free massage in the Hotel and relax before dinner which starts at 7.30pm

DAY 2

PLEASE NOTE THESE PAINTING SESSIONS HAVE BEEN ORIGINALLY WRITTEN BY CAROLINE HULSE FRSA - who trained at one of the best art schools.

It is a concise approach to painting - we note other providers (Very naughty!) are now copying our programme but this was ORIGINALLY written by Caroline.

PERSPECTIVE IN OILS

Yesterday we learnt about composition and preparing our canvas - so today we are learning about 'perspective'

We paint our first 'stain' layer in oil paint - on location.

After a lesson in 'perspective' in the Studio - we go into the white village - with our easels and oil paints and paint on location

Everyone chooses where they want to sit and paint

We have lunch in a restaurant

Then we finish of our paintings in the Studio

We finish about 4.30-5.0pm - so you have time for your free massage in the Hotel and relax before dinner which starts at 7.30pm

DAY 3

THE BEACH

WHOOPPEEEEE

(You can't have a painting holiday without a great day at the beach) But for those of you who HATE sand(!!) - you don't have to venture on to it. We have a great view point.

A Restaurant where we can sit and have a few drinks and and just enjoy the sun, the atmosphere, and the sketching.

This is a great session, where everyone picks Caroline's brains and chats art - as well as sketching various elements around us!

Painting is all about YOU and your style - so by the 3rd day, we hope you are feeling confident about composition, tonal values, perspective and paint marks.

This is a sketch pad - on our laps - relaxed session.

We have lunch on the beach - in a restaurant

Then we go back to the Studio and create our paintings from our sketches.

TODAY we are encouraging you to be 'expressive' or 'interpetive'

That is not to create a 'photograph' of something but to try and BRING OUT THE ARTIST IN YOU.

I have 3 essential tips which will almost ENSURE you will create a perfect painting EVERY TIME!!

DAY 4

OIL PAINTING ON LOCATION IN JUANAR

A few students have described this place as 'Heaven' and I agree.

It is stunning, peaceful, cool (in the mountains) and this time the pollen was blowing off the pine cones - it was amazing - great gusts of yellow pollen floating around the sky - unfortunately settling on us - but we didn't mind. It was FUN!

We had lunch in the refugio

and then back to the Studio to carry on our paintings in oils.

We finish about 4.30-5.0pm - so you have time for your free massage in the Hotel and relax before dinner which starts at 7.30pm

DAY 5

IN THE STUDIO

PAINT IN OILS, WATERCOLOUR OR ACRYLICS

Today is spent in the Studio - finishing off paintings - learning anything more you want to.

Painting in oils, watercolour or acrylics - whatever you want to do!!

We have lunch in the Studio - lovely fresh salads and fruit - with lots of wine!!

Most people say this is the best lunch!!

We think about how you are going to get your paintings home. Sometimes they fit in your suitcase. Often you can carry them (wrapped) - or we can take the canvas off the stretcher.

We finish about 4.30-5.0pm - so you have time for your free massage in the Hotel and relax before dinner which starts at 7.30pm

DAY 6

DAY OF LEISURE

Today you can shoose what you do. Some people just swim, sunbathe and use the Spa in the hotel.

The hotel has a free minibus which takes you to Marbella.

Or we can take you to to Mijas or something like that.

We can also let you use the morning to finish off in the Studio.

Lunch is not included on this day.

Evening meal in the hotel starts at 7.30pm
